About The Role…

In this role, you’ll provide expert guidance and support to ensure the business remains compliant with our SHEQ management systems and all relevant legislative obligations. You’ll coach and mentor employees on how to effectively use these systems, while actively monitoring their implementation through audits and inspections. By constructively challenging the effectiveness of risk controls, you’ll help drive continuous improvement and strengthen our safety culture. You’ll also play a key role in supporting the Divisional Head of SHEQ, contributing to our shared goal of achieving health and safety excellence across the organisation.

As a SHEQ Advisor…

  • Promote and support SHEQ across divisions, depots, and sites within your remit
  • Act as a SHEQ ambassador, encouraging innovative solutions and collaboration
  • Develop and implement policies, procedures, and risk controls to reduce risk
  • Work closely with internal teams and clients to meet SHEQ targets and drive improvement
  • Monitor performance against Occupational Health and Safety Plans
  • Conduct site visits, audits, and inspections; provide feedback and corrective guidance
  • Ensure timely closure of corrective actions with measurable improvements
  • Support planning workshops and assist with RAMS, Job Packs, and briefings
  • Attend client SHEQ forums and represent the business professionally
  • Lead or support investigations and assurance audits to uphold SHEQ standards

About You…

You’re a qualified SHEQ professional with experience in utilities, infrastructure, or construction, holding a NEBOSH Certificate and actively working toward—or already holding—the NEBOSH Diploma. With IOSH membership (Tech IOSH or above), you bring practical knowledge of SHEQ legislation, systems, and risk management, and have a strong background in project safety planning, compliance assessments, and reviewing RAMS. Confident in coaching and influencing stakeholders at all levels, you’re a clear communicator with solid IT skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a collaborative team.
