SHEQ Assistant

Description
We are seeking an organised and detail-oriented SHEQ Assistant to join our team. In this role, you will support the SHEQ Manager by managing daily administrative operations, maintaining compliance documentation, and tracking safety metrics. Your work will directly support our operational teams and management, ensuring a safe, compliant, and well-documented workplace. This is a development opportunity for a motivated individual with an interest in a SHEQ role who can demonstrate their organisational ability and attention to detail.
Key Responsibilities
- Document Management: Maintain, update, and organise all safety manuals, risk assessments, Standard Operating Procedures and environmental compliance records.
- Data Tracking & Reporting: Log workplace incidents, near-misses, and hazard observations. Assist in compiling weekly/monthly HSE metric reports for management.
- Training Coordination: Schedule company-wide safety inductions, arrange external training courses, track certification expiry dates, and maintain the employee training matrix.
- Audit & Inspection Support: Assist the SHEQ team in preparing files for internal and external safety audits.
- Meeting & Event Logistics: Coordinate schedules, prepare agendas, and take detailed minutes for monthly Health and Safety Committee meetings.
- Inventory Control: Monitor and manage inventory levels for Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and safety signage, coordination replenishment orders when necessary.

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
Job Requirements:
- Full-time role based in Toomebridge.
- 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday
- Work environment is predominantly in a warehouse or processing facility.
- Regular exposure to noise, dust, and heavy machinery.
- Personal protective equipment (PPE) will be provided and must be worn.
Essential:
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in an administrative support role OR work experience within a fast-moving environment where attention to detail was essential
- Education: 5 x GCSEs (A-C) or equivalent including English and Maths
- Technical Skills: proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
- Driving Licence
