SHEQ Assurance Manager – £55,000-£65,000 + Company Car/Car Allowance + Package – Based near Leeds / Hybrid role – Construction – ID: 11869

Principal People are delighted to be working with a leading, multi-disciplined principal contractor to recruit for a SHEQ Assurance Manager to join their core safety Team.

About the Role

As the SHEQ Assurance Manager, you will play a pivotal role in developing, implementing, and updating processes to ensure ongoing compliance with their Integrated Business Management System (IMS). You will lead efforts to maintain accreditation to ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and ISO 45001, alongside maintaining crucial company accreditations.

Responsibilities

The SHEQ Assurance Manager will be responsible for:

  • Developing, improving, and maintaining a compliant Business Management System, ensuring legislative compliance and alignment with ISO standards.
  • Leading external audits to ensure zero major non-conformances and continually reviewing and updating the system to reflect business changes.
  • Working on continuous improvement of company processes.
  • Responsible for contractor management.
  • Maintaining the organization's accreditations and ensuring strong company compliance.
  • Developing and maintaining an audit strategy, completing audit reports in a timely manner, and promoting awareness of legislative and industry standards across the business.
  • Taking ownership of SHEQ data, metrics, and insights.

Requirements

The SHEQ Assurance Manager will hold:

  • Excellent working knowledge of ISO standards, with a recognised lead auditing qualification.
  • Level 6 H&S qualification.
  • Strong regulatory SHEQ experience.
  • Experience in the construction sector (Refurbishment or fit-out experience desirable).
  • Have led on ISO management audits.
  • Any environmental-based experience is desirable.
  • Experience of delivering reports to board/SLTs.
  • Strong IT skills and ability to communicate at all levels.
