Engineering services are delivered for the px group by the engineering consultancy division px Engineering Consultants Limited (“PXECL”). The team comprises of managers, senior engineers, engineers and designers that have direct experience of construction projects and operating facilities, as well as exceptional engineering expertise.

The Opportunity
We are now recruiting for an SHEQ Manager to join our team in Stockton.
The SHEQ Manager ensures all operational departments adhere to company systems, policies and procedures and that the business remains compliant with accredited ISO standards and any other industry-relevant accreditations on an ongoing basis.
- Contributes to project delivery by governing the operational areas of the business through internal auditing, continuous improvement and regulating the correct use and control of process documentation contained within the px COS (Company Operating System)
- The SHEQ Manager will ensure revision-controlled documentation is both available and accurate at all times.
You’ll be supported with personalised on-the-job training, coaching, mentoring and twice-yearly development and performance reviews to help maintain & develop your contributions and competence.

Key Responsibilities
- Provide input and support of proposals during the bid and pre-contract stage, this may include process/supplier audit information, PPQs (Process Performance Qualifications) or other specific quality-related documentation
- Review quality/process requirements pre-contract to ensure any specific quality-related deliverables are understood at the tendering phase
- Support the development of existing – and introduction of new – suppliers through auditing, accurately recording and reporting NCRs, tracking total cost of quality and continuous improvement activities
- Collaborate with and support Project Managers with project kick-off meetings, and ongoing project progress meetings as required, either internal or external.
- Own and manage the Quality Management System ‘Manual’ which sets out the framework in which operates
- Owner and maintainer of the Master Document Register for all project-related standard documents
- Responsible for managing and maintaining the business-level risk register
- Develop quality assurance plans as required throughout the project life cycle
- Provide Quality Plans, Inspection and Test Plans and supporting procedures to projects as required
- Monitor and trend quality performance and provide QA input to management reports
- Review contractors and suppliers Quality Plans and related quality documentation to ensure quality requirements are managed through the supply chain
- Collate and facilitate Lessons Learned close-out sessions on all projects
- Manage and lead quality-related incident investigations, policies, processes, or project-related
- Support and where required coordinate client-led audits
- Champion and coordinate client feedback through quality-based questionnaires
- Develop a Quality Status Report at project and business level, issued monthly
- Manage and maintain training matrix and records for all staff, including new starters
- Attend client meetings, either virtually or on site as required
- Collaborate with the Project Manager to log and respond to all quality-related issues and actions in a timely manner

Minimum Requirements
- HNC/HND qualified in a SHEQ, technical or engineering discipline.
- Experienced SHEQ within a project-based construction environment and including CDM.
- Formal audit training ISO, Internal Auditor (or equivalent)
- Demonstrable experience of managing internal quality systems for medium to large organisations with cloud-based systems.
- Understanding of engineering drawings and specifications.
- An ability to collaborate, motivate and encourage others across multidisciplinary teams
- Identify and implement continuous improvements to processes, products, and services.
- Possess excellent communication skills both verbal and written.
- Strong IT skills (full MS Office Suite)
- Able to travel in the UK and overseas as required.
- Completed company induction for this role.
