SHEQ Officer

We're looking for an experienced SHEQ Officer with demolition experience to support, demolition enabling works and specialist contracting projects across multiple sites.

This is a hands-on, site-based role where you'll work closely with Project Managers, Site Managers and operatives to promote a positive safety culture, ensure legal compliance and drive high standards of health, safety, environmental and quality performance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out SHEQ site inspections, audits and compliance monitoring.
  • Provide practical HSEQ advice and support to site teams.
  • Review RAMS, COSHH assessments and Construction Phase Plans.
  • Investigate accidents, incidents and near misses, ensuring corrective actions are implemented.
  • Deliver site inductions, toolbox talks and workforce briefings.
  • Review subcontractor RAMS and monitor contractor performance.
  • Support ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 management systems.
  • Produce inspection reports and promote continuous improvement across projects.

You'll Have

  • Experience in a SHEQ, HSEQ or Health & Safety role within construction, civil engineering, demolition or enabling works.
  • Strong practical site experience and knowledge of UK Health & Safety legislation and CDM Regulations.
  • Experience carrying out audits, inspections, incident investigations and RAMS reviews.
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills.
  • Full UK Driving Licence.

Essential Qualifications

  • NEBOSH Construction Certificate (or equivalent)
  • SMSTS
  • Full UK Driving Licence

Desirable:

  • ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 Internal Auditor experience
  • Temporary Works Coordinator
  • Environmental qualification
