Tronox Job Description

About The Role

This successful candidate will be accountable for coordinating the site development and maintenance of its Management System and related ISO certifications in risk management, quality, safety, health, and environment. The successful candidate will be a member of the site SHEQ team and will be accountable for the development and maintenance of the site management systems aligned to and including 9001, 14001, 45001, 50001 and related ISO certifications in risk management, safety, health, and environment. They will provide support to Operations and Support Functions to identify system improvements through risk planning, inspections, governance, and auditing and driving the continuous improvement program.

This Will Be Achieved Through

  • Providing cross-functional leadership and support for SHEQ governance, risk management systems, assurance, reporting, and continuous improvement.
  • Maintaining effective SHEQ management systems, driving improvements in risk management practices, coordinating assurance activities, and providing independent challenge across Safety, Health, Environment, Process Safety, Emergency Response, and Quality functions.
  • Providing excellent business partnership to operational leaders and functional specialists, enabling proactive risk management, effective control implementation, and continual improvement of SHEQ performance.

Main Roles And Responsibilities

SHEQ Management Systems

  • Maintain and continuously improve integrated SHEQ management systems.
  • Coordinate ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and ISO 45001 compliance activities.
  • Lead management review processes.
  • Ensure procedures remain current, effective, and practical.
  • Simplify SHEQ systems to improve operational usability.
  • Coordinate certification and surveillance activities.

Governance and Assurance

  • Develop and manage the annual assurance and audit programme.
  • Coordinate SHEQ audits and inspections.
  • Track assurance findings and verify close-out effectiveness.
  • Identify recurring themes and systemic weaknesses.
  • Provide independent challenge regarding SHEQ performance and compliance.

Risk Management

  • Facilitate high-quality risk assessments.
  • Support bowtie and critical control management processes.
  • Maintain site risk registers.
  • Support development of site SHEQ improvement plans.
  • Review effectiveness of control measures and barriers.

Incident and Action Management

  • Maintain investigation standards and processes.
  • Support and coach investigators.
  • Review investigation quality.
  • Manage corrective action governance.
  • Verify effectiveness of completed actions.
  • Monitor trends and identify repeat failures.

Performance and Reporting

  • Develop SHEQ dashboards and performance metrics.
  • Analyse leading and lagging indicators.
  • Produce reports for SLT, regional, and corporate teams.
  • Identify emerging risks and opportunities.
  • Support data-driven decision making.

Continuous Improvement

  • Lead SHEQ improvement initiatives.
  • Support digitalization and workflow improvements.
  • Drive standardization across SHEQ processes.
  • Share learning and best practices across functions.
  • Promote proactive risk management approaches.

Business Partnership

  • Partner with site managers and department leaders.
  • Support operational teams in addressing SHEQ challenges.
  • Facilitate workshops and improvement activities.
  • Provide interpretation of SHEQ standards and requirements.
  • Promote ownership of risk by operational leaders.

Skills

Technical

  • Strong understanding of ISO 45001, ISO 14001, and ISO 9001.
  • Experience managing SHEQ management systems.
  • Experience facilitating risk assessments.
  • Investigation experience.
  • Audit and assurance experience.
  • Strong understanding of SHEQ KPIs and reporting.
  • Knowledge of regulatory compliance requirements.

Professional

  • Excellent analytical skills.
  • Strong report writing capability.
  • Data analysis and interpretation.
  • Stakeholder management.
  • Workshop facilitation.
  • Continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Change management skills.

Systems

  • Advanced Microsoft Excel.
  • Power BI or equivalent reporting tools.
  • SharePoint and Microsoft 365.
  • SHEQ management systems software.
  • Action tracking and governance systems.

Qualifications

  • NEBOSH Diploma in Occupational Safety & Health (or equivalent)
  • COMAH Regulations Knowledge (preferred)
  • Lead ISO Auditor
