Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site Shift Controller role based in Cleckheaton. The Shift Controller will coordinate daily coach operations, including managing driver allocations, vehicle scheduling, and route planning to ensure services run safely and on time. Responsibilities include:

- Monitoring live operations
- Responding to service disruptions
- Communicating updates to drivers and other internal stakeholders
- Maintaining accurate records of shifts and services
- Liaising with customers
- Handling enquiries related to services or schedules
- Supporting compliance with company policies and transport regulations

The role also involves working closely with operations management to optimize resource use and maintain high service standards across all routes and contracts.
Qualifications
- Strong operational coordination and planning skills, with experience in scheduling, rota management, or transport logistics.
- Proficient in communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to liaise effectively with drivers, colleagues, and customers.
- Competent with basic IT systems and data entry, including the use of scheduling or dispatch software, spreadsheets, and email.
- Ability to remain calm under pressure, prioritize tasks, and make sound decisions in time-sensitive situations.
- Knowledge of passenger transport operations or previous experience in a transport, logistics, or service control environment is an advantage.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety, compliance, and customer service.
- Willingness to work shift patterns, including early, late, and weekend shifts as required.
- Relevant vocational or academic qualifications in transport operations, logistics, or a related field are beneficial.
