Shift Engineer Crick
Permanent | Site-based | £64,646 per annum plus overtime
We're excited to be recruiting for a Shift Engineer to join our engineering team at Crick. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced multi-skilled engineer with a strong electrical bias, perfect for someone passionate about keeping plant running safely, getting to the root cause and making things better every shift.
You'll help keep our manufacturing assets safe, reliable and available. That means planned maintenance, fault finding and continuous improvement, working closely with Production and Operations across days and nights.
Shift Pattern
4 days on, 4 off, 4 nights on, 4 off, working 12-hour shifts (06:00 / 18:00 - 18:00 - 06:00). Your schedule is predictable and you get regular blocks of time off.
Responsibilities
- Carry out planned, predictive and corrective maintenance to maximise uptime
- Diagnose and fix electrical, mechanical and controls faults safely and efficiently
- Lead root cause analysis to stop repeat failures
- Drive improvements in equipment performance, cost and energy use
- Work to all safety, food safety and engineering standards
- Keep CMMS records accurate and use the data to get ahead of breakdowns
- Manage critical spares so parts are available without overstocking
- Take part in daily, weekly and monthly performance reviews
About you
- Electrical apprenticeship, HNC, NVQ Level 3 or equivalent
- Time-served Electrical Engineer or Multi-Skilled Engineer with a strong electrical bias
- Experience in FMCG or manufacturing
- Confident fault finding across electrical, mechanical and control systems
- CMMS experience and an understanding of reliability tools such as RCM, FMECA, TPM or CBM
- Keen to keep learning and developing
- NEBOSH, HACCP or Legionella awareness would be a bonus

Your development
Every engineer gets a company-funded Engineering Development Plan built around them. It covers mechanical, electrical and controls skills, including PLC troubleshooting, automation, condition monitoring and reliability-centred maintenance. Training is delivered through on-site learning, mentoring, accredited courses and specialist external providers.
