Shift Engineer
This is a great opportunity to join a leading FMCG company as a Shift Engineer, being responsible for reactive and pro-active maintenance as part of a shift team in a mid-sized team of engineers. Please note that the role works a mix of day and night shifts (full shift pattern available upon request).
Career Opportunity
The opportunity is one that could be a strong accelerator for your career, with progression routes available within the role as a more senior technical specialist or through more traditional supervisory/management routes. The business has a track record of promoting Engineering professionals through the ranks and many of the current Senior Leadership team started as engineers. The environment is busy and fast-paced so it will suit someone that can really focus on having that proactive and reliability-focused attitude as well as being able to fix reactive breakdowns where necessary.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
