MacGregor Black are partnering with a leading UK food and beverage manufacturer on the search for a Shift Engineer to join their Engineering team based in the South West.
Working a 4 on, 4 off continental shift pattern (2 days, 2 nights, 4 off), this is an excellent opportunity to join a well-established manufacturer producing a range of liquid food and beverage products for major UK retailers and leading brands.
Key Responsibilities:
- Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance across manufacturing plant and site services.
- Diagnose and rectify mechanical and electrical faults to minimise downtime and maximise equipment availability.
- Support the installation, commissioning and continuous improvement of production equipment.
- Complete maintenance records accurately and ensure engineering standards are maintained.
- Work collaboratively with Production and Engineering teams to maximise plant reliability and operational efficiency.
- Identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives to improve equipment performance and reduce downtime.
- Support the delivery of the site's engineering objectives and maintenance strategy.
- Ensure all engineering activities are completed in line with Food Safety, Quality and Health & Safety standards.
- Promote safe working practices and contribute to a positive engineering culture across the site.

What We're Looking For:
- Proven experience as a Maintenance Engineer, Shift Engineer or Multi-Skilled Engineer within a food, beverage or FMCG manufacturing environment.
- Experience maintaining production machinery and process equipment within a fast-paced manufacturing operation.
- Strong mechanical and/or electrical fault-finding ability.
- Experience working on high-speed manufacturing or automated production equipment.
- Time-served apprenticeship, NVQ, HNC/HND or equivalent engineering qualification.
- Self-motivated with excellent problem-solving skills.
- Able to work effectively both independently and within a shift team.
- Committed to continuous improvement and delivering high engineering standards.

- £51,510 per annum
