Job Title: Shift Engineer

Location: Bromborough

Working Hours: Rotating Shift - 4 on 4 off (2 days / 2 nights)

Department: Engineering

Reports To: Engineering Manager

About The Role

We are seeking a Shift Engineer to join our dynamic and forward-thinking team in Bromborough. With recent investments in new equipment and greenhouse gas (GHG) initiatives, we are building a strong foundation for the future of the site. This role is pivotal in ensuring the reliability and safety of our manufacturing equipment, supporting continuous improvement and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain all site assets to a high standard, ensuring optimal performance and availability.
  • Execute planned and reactive maintenance activities safely and efficiently.
  • Drive plant reliability through hands-on interventions, improvements, and analysis.
  • Apply and communicate robust safe systems of work and risk assessments.
  • Deliver on Engineering Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
  • Support the development of standards for equipment and facilities.
  • Manage engineering stock control and ensure accurate system records.
  • Coach and train production colleagues to enhance equipment knowledge and performance.
  • Promote a culture of professional engineering and continuous improvement.

  • Recognised qualification in Mechanical and Electrical Engineering.
  • BTEC Engineering Certificate or equivalent.
  • Broad knowledge of Hydraulics, Pneumatics, Mechanical, Electrical, PLCs, and Inverter Assets.
  • Experience in risk assessment and safe maintenance practices.
  • Competence in working with high-hazard equipment and safe isolation procedures.
