Shift Leader – Continental Shift Pattern

We are currently recruiting for a Shift Leader to join a professional and well-established operation based in Victoria, London. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong leadership experience who is confident managing teams, maintaining high standards and ensuring the smooth and safe running of operations across a shift.

The Role

As Shift Leader, you will take responsibility for the effective management of the shift, ensuring operational, safety and service standards are consistently maintained.

You will be responsible for leading and supporting your team, coordinating day-to-day activities, responding to issues and ensuring all procedures and processes are followed.

The successful candidate will be a confident communicator and natural leader who can make sound decisions under pressure and motivate a team to deliver consistently high standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the team during your allocated shift.
  • Ensure all operational and safety procedures are followed.
  • Coordinate daily activities and allocate resources effectively.
  • Monitor performance and maintain high standards throughout the shift.
  • Deal confidently with incidents, issues and operational challenges.
  • Communicate effectively with colleagues, management and relevant stakeholders.
  • Support the development, training and performance of team members.
  • Complete accurate shift handovers, reports and relevant documentation.
  • Promote a positive culture of teamwork, safety and continuous improvement.
  • Ensure company policies and procedures are consistently adhered to.

The Shift Pattern

This role operates on a continental shift pattern, providing a structured rotation of days, nights and rest days:

4 days on → 4 days off → 3 days on → 3 nights on → 4 days off

The role requires flexibility to work both day and night shifts.

About You

We are looking for an experienced and motivated Shift Leader who can demonstrate:

  • Previous experience in a Shift Leader, Supervisor, Team Leader or similar role.
  • Strong leadership and people-management skills.
  • The ability to remain calm and make effective decisions under pressure.
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills.
  • A proactive approach to problem-solving.
  • The ability to work effectively as part of a team while taking ownership of your shift.
  • A strong commitment to safety, compliance and operational excellence.
  • Flexibility and willingness to work a continental day/night shift pattern.
