Shift Maintenance Engineer

Salary: £53,000 + Pension + Overtime
Continental Shift Pattern: 4 on 4 off, 2 days 2 nights, 6-6
Location: Preston
Reference: Jo7294/LW

The Company

My client is one of the UK's leading manufacturers within its field of food-based packaging products and associated processes. The group is a well-established producer to the European markets and has been established over 30 years. The site in Preston is looking once again to expand due to further investment, within this secure organisation.

Key Skills

  • Apprentice Trained Engineer in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering but MUST be multi-skilled
  • Experience of PLC systems & Automated machinery
  • Understanding of PPM systems

The Role

  • Service and maintain manufacturing equipment: corrugator machines, palletizing lines, conveyor systems
  • Work in collaboration with the Engineering department on PPM schedules
  • Undertake electrical repairs and upgrade of circuits
  • Ensure compliance with Health & Safety policies
  • Completing planned, preventative maintenance to high quality standards

You will have served a minimum of ideally a full apprenticeship in mechanical or electrical engineering and have experience working within planned and preventative maintenance schedules, working on conveyors, inverters, drives, sensors, plastics or insulation machines, packaging machines, motors, print units, cutting units, stacking, and folding machines.

On a day-to-day basis, you will be responsible for all production equipment including compliance with Health & Safety policies are met and any maintenance activities are completed to the highest standards. There is a huge scope and variety on offer, so the successful candidate will be in line to broaden their skills considerably.
