We’re recruiting for an experienced Shift Manager / Production Supervisor to join an established plastic injection moulding manufacturer in Droitwich Spa.

This is a hands-on manufacturing leadership role and would suit someone with a strong background in plastic injection moulding processing who has progressed into shift leadership, production supervision, or team management.

The successful candidate will take responsibility for production performance across their shift, leading the team to achieve targets for safety, quality, productivity, OEE, and delivery while providing hands-on technical support across the injection moulding operation.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and supervise day-to-day production operations across your shift.
  • Manage staffing and resources to ensure production plans and customer requirements are achieved.
  • Monitor and improve manufacturing KPIs, including OEE, scrap, downtime, and production efficiency.
  • Provide hands-on technical support across plastic injection moulding processes and machinery.
  • Maintain high standards of Health, Safety & Environmental compliance.
  • Drive quality improvements and work to reduce defects and waste.
  • Support 5S and Continuous Improvement activities across manufacturing.
  • Troubleshoot production and processing issues to minimize downtime.
  • Coach, develop, and motivate production team members.
  • Work closely with Manufacturing and Engineering teams to improve operational performance.
  • Ensure production targets are achieved without compromising safety or quality.

About You

To be considered for this position, you should have:

  • Hands-on plastic injection moulding processing experience – essential.
  • Previous experience as a Shift Manager, Shift Supervisor, Production Supervisor, Manufacturing Team Leader, or similar.
  • Strong knowledge of injection moulding machinery and manufacturing processes.
  • Experience leading and developing teams within a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Understanding of manufacturing KPIs, particularly OEE, scrap, and production efficiency.
  • Knowledge of 5S and Continuous Improvement methodologies.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Good communication and people-management skills.
  • A proactive, flexible, and hands-on management style.

Shift Pattern

This position operates on a 3-week rotating shift pattern:

Week 1 – Mornings

  • Monday–Thursday: 06:00–14:15
  • Friday: 06:00–11:00

Week 2 – Afternoons

  • Monday–Thursday: 14:00–22:15
  • Friday: 11:00–16:00

Week 3 – Nights

  • Monday–Thursday: 22:00–06:15

38-hour working week with enhanced overtime rates available.
