Shift Manager

Here at GXO, we're recruiting for a Shift Manager to join our Bromford Gate operation in Birmingham. This is a full-time, permanent role, working Monday to Friday, 16:00 – 01:00, where you'll be responsible for leading warehouse operations, developing high-performing teams and ensuring operational, customer and business objectives are consistently achieved. Reporting to the Operations Manager, you'll play a key role in driving operational excellence while maintaining a strong focus on colleague wellbeing, health and safety and continuous improvement.

What you’ll do on a typical day
- Lead warehouse operations across the afternoon shift, ensuring productivity, quality, stock accuracy and service targets are consistently achieved
- Develop and coach Team Leaders and warehouse colleagues, creating a culture of engagement, accountability and continuous improvement
- Drive a strong health, safety and environmental culture, ensuring compliance with all company procedures, policies and legislative requirements
- Monitor operational and financial performance, identifying opportunities for cost savings, productivity improvements and enhanced customer service
- Build strong relationships with customers and internal stakeholders while supporting business change, operational improvements and site engagement initiatives
What you need to succeed at GXO
- Previous warehouse shift management experience within a logistics, supply chain or distribution environment
- Strong people management and leadership capability, with experience developing teams and managing performance
- Good commercial awareness with the ability to understand operational costs, productivity drivers and customer expectations
- Experience using Warehouse Management Systems and Microsoft Office applications, ideally including BlueYonder
- Excellent communication, organisational and problem-solving skills, with the ability to influence and engage stakeholders at all levels
