Join Company Shop Group As a Shift Manager

Location: Head Office in Tankersley, S75 3DH
Hours: 40 hours per week working Tuesday-Saturday. (6am start -2:30pm finish between Tue-Friday's and 9am start-5:30pm finish on a Saturday)
Salary: £47,153

At Company Shop Group, we're looking for a confident and hands-on Shift Manager to take ownership of our warehouse operations, lead and develop our colleagues, and ensure every shift runs safely, efficiently and effectively.

What You'll Be Doing
As Shift Manager, you'll play a key role in the wider Operations Management Team, reporting to the Head of Operations and taking overall responsibility for the successful running of your shift.
You'll lead from the front, making sure our operation delivers against its targets while keeping safety, quality and our people at the heart of everything we do.

Your responsibilities will include:
- Leading operational performance - taking ownership of daily warehouse activities, productivity, service, quality and operational KPIs
- Putting safety first - championing Health & Safety, environmental standards and brand integrity, ensuring procedures are followed and incidents and near misses are reported
- Driving continuous improvement - identifying opportunities to improve processes, reduce waste, increase efficiency and deliver better results
- Managing resources and costs - planning labour, managing temporary colleagues and budgets, and ensuring the right people are in the right place to meet business demands
- Developing your team - coaching, mentoring and supporting colleagues, identifying skills gaps and putting development plans in place
- Managing performance - setting clear expectations and addressing performance, conduct and employee relations matters in line with company procedures
- Delivering effective communication - leading daily review meetings, completing robust shift handovers and ensuring actions are followed through
- Working collaboratively - building strong relationships across the wider business to ensure supply chain demands are met
- Taking ownership - acting as the senior manager on site outside normal working hours when required in an emergency
Requirements
What we're looking for:
We're looking for a people-focused operational leader who can balance strong performance with a genuine commitment to developing their team.
You'll ideally bring:
- Previous experience at management level within a chilled, FMCG or packing environment
- Experience working within Health & Safety frameworks and maintaining high operational standards
- The confidence to make sound decisions in a complex, fast-paced operation
- A proven ability to coach, motivate and develop teams to deliver results
- Strong communication, organisation and problem-solving skills
- Experience working with operational budgets, targets and KPIs
- The ability to manage change, challenge existing processes and drive continuous improvement
