Shift Manager - Bedford Food Production Site
You will be fully responsible for the day-to-day running of your shift, as well as identifying and leading operational improvement opportunities for the business.
You Will Be Great At
- Leadership experience gained within a manufacturing, (food manufacturing desirable) production or FMCG
- Strong leadership skills with demonstrable experience with the ability to problem solve, report information/findings, develop recommendations, and implement process changes
- Proven ability to gain strong results through team working
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills
- Competent IT skills with daily use of MS office software
- Experience of managing, motivating and developing teams
- Numerate & literate with the ability to calculate and interpret OEE’s
- A good understanding of relevant Health and Safety Legislation and codes of practice
You Are
- Able to run to schedule, within the given time frames, whilst maintaining health and safety, food safety, quality, and customer service standards
- Promote the delivery of Continuous Improvement manufacturing practices within the team
- Undertake loss investigations/analysis against red numbers on OEE/Waste, using Continuous Improvement tools
- Coach, develop and lead your team, supporting the delivery of any training and development for your team. Promoting and supporting the introduction of multi-skilling across the business
- Conduct shift meetings with your teams. Gaining team buy-in/accountability for problems and issues on shift
- To control and document levels and accuracy of waste/waste recording including Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE)
- To undertake Accident and Near Miss investigations

You Have
- Educated to a good standard of general education
- Experience: Proven background supervising teams in a manufacturing environment, ideally within the food industry.
- Qualification: Food Hygiene (Level 3 preferred), HACCP, IOSH Managing Safely, with First Aid or Fire Warden qualifications as a bonus.
- People Skills: Strong interpersonal skills with a talent for building positive relationships.
- Vocational management qualification desirable.

Shift Pattern
You will be working 12-hour shifts, 6:00 AM - 6:00 PM
- Week 1 & 3: (4 days on, 3 days off).
- Week 2 & 4: (3 days on, 4 days off).
You will be provided with yearly shift pattern.
