Shift Manager – Food Manufacturing | Skelmersdale
Who We Are
We’re Müller UK & Ireland, a family-run dairy business specialising in high-quality milk, ingredients, and yogurt products. Our Skelmersdale site is a key hub for processing enough milk to make 66 billion cups of tea a year – but we’re so much more: from creams, butter, and drinks to ingredients for brands across the UK.
We’re driven by passion for nutrition, sustainability, and people. As the UK’s most popular dairy brand, we’re growing rapidly with a culture of pace, ownership, and opportunity. Here, you’ll shape a more sustainable dairy future while enjoying career progression and benefits like bonuses, pension contributions, and healthcare.
Why Müller?
Milk is at the heart of everything we do – from farm to factory to fridge. But our greatest impact comes from our people. Across Müller Milk & Ingredients (MMI), we’re all committed to:
- Delighting shoppers with high-quality products.
- Leading in sustainability and operational excellence.
- Fostering a bold, entrepreneurial, and inclusive culture with top rewards.
This is your chance to make a real difference in a fast-paced, forward-thinking environment.
About the Role
Müller is recruiting Shift Managers with experience in dairy or food manufacturing to lead our production teams in days and nights shifts (7-7, 4 on/4 off).
The Opportunity
You’ll oversee 10-20 colleagues, ensuring safety, quality, and efficiency while hitting KPIs for productivity, waste reduction, and labour utilisation. If you’re a Team Leader, Production Supervisor, or experienced Shift Manager with food manufacturing expertise, we’d love to hear from you.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
