We are seeking a Production Shift Manager with proven paper converting knowledge and experience to join our team manufacturing hygiene paper products. This is a key leadership role responsible for overseeing production operations during your shift, ensuring safety, quality, and efficiency targets are consistently met.

As a Shift Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the converting floor during your assigned shift. You will lead a team of production employees, ensuring targets are met while maintaining high standards of safety, quality, and efficiency.

Responsibilities

  • Lead by example, ensuring a safe and efficient workplace is maintained at all times
  • Achieve the required company quality standards ensuring both internal and external customer satisfaction
  • Ensuring that Key Performance Indicators (KPI's) are monitored and targets achieved
  • Liaise and coordinate with support functions to progress issues concerning production planning and resource/skill allocation to ensure delivery of products to schedule within all relevant quality specifications
  • Communicate with the teams by utilizing the visual management, delivering shift briefs with focus on quality, cost, and delivery, and gathering ideas for improvement
  • Undertake performance management responsibility for team members, conducting appraisals and giving direction to aid good performance
  • Ensure safe working practices are maintained and ‘Standard Operations’ adhered to
  • Ensure that non-conformance is challenged and countermeasures are agreed and implemented
  • Lead and motivate the team to create a high-performance culture where improvement suggestions are embraced
  • Strive to exceed the Company targets in productivity, efficiency, and quality on a continuous basis
  • Report and act upon plant or machinery breakdowns to maintenance technicians
  • Ensure housekeeping is kept to a high standard

People Management

  • Manage manpower resource effectively maximizing key skills in the right areas
  • Drive company Absence Control Procedures to ensure maximum attendance levels
  • Manage time and attendance within Company procedures
  • Motivate and coach the team to operational success
  • Monitor the completion of tasks and ensure good performance
  • Consistently promote high standards through personal example and roll out through the team so that each member of the team understands the standards and behaviors expected of them
  • Ensure KPIs are met by working to the overall plan, including management of, and reporting
  • Provide product expertise within team, and respond to operator queries
  • Support, comply, and ensure complicity with Health & Safety regulations, the Company Handbook, Quality and Environmental standards, and all other Company policies and procedures

What We’re Looking For

  • Proven experience in the paper converting industry (essential)
  • Strong leadership and people management skills
  • Knowledge of converting machinery and processes
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume manufacturing environment
  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities

Shift Pattern

Friday – Sunday Night Shift (7:00 PM - 7:00 AM)
