Shift Manager

Location: Elland, Halifax, HX5 9JP Working Pattern: Permanent · Continental shift pattern – 4 days on, 4 days off Careers – Apply now

Are you a confident operational leader who thrives at pace, takes real ownership of your shift, and gets the best out of your team?

About the Role

As a Shift Manager at A-SAFE, you’ll take full ownership of your shift and everyone in it. Reporting to the Production Manager, your mission is to drive operational excellence, meet KPIs, and ensure safety, quality, and productivity. In a fast-growing hi-tech manufacturing environment, you’ll lead initiatives for process improvement, lean working, and team development—making sure every day is better than the last.

Given the expansion of our Elland facility, you’ll join at a pivotal moment, with full induction, mentorship, and structured training to support you from the start. This role is your chance to scale your leadership alongside the business.

Core Responsibilities

Operational Leadership

  • Manage continued shifts with ** PIBONUTC standards** and quality control – ensuring production targets, KPIs, and Manufacturing Order Production & Execution (MOPE) processes are met.
  • Lead a shift team of supervisors to foster engagement, safety, and continuous development, driving performance through coaching and H&S policies.

Safety & Compliance

  • Prioritise health and safety daily – ensuring team compliance with company safety protocols and maintaining a zero-incident culture.
  • Standards & Systems Leadership:
    • Own Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and regular Team Leader cover until trained staff are recruited.
    • Keep 5S housekeeping standards immaculate, handing over a clean, organised workspace to succeeding shifts.
    • Coordinate inventory management, WMS/NetSuite transactions, and accurate stock checks across all active manufacturing cells.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
