Shift Operations Manager
Company Description
Who are we?
We are FBC UK, Fox’s & Burton’s – and we bake the UK’s most incredible biscuits (you decide if we’re biased)!
FBC UK merges two of the UK’s top biscuit manufacturers (Burton’s Biscuits and Fox’s Biscuits) into one innovative and integrated company.
We’re home to household favourites: Maryland, Fox’s, Jammie Dodger & Rocky – just to name a few. As proud manufacturing partners to major UK retailers, we bake our award-winning biscuits across eight bakeries: Isle of Arran, Livingston, Blackpool, Llantarnam, Edinburgh, Kirkham, Batley & Dorset, with our HQ in St Albans.
Together, we employ ~4,000 talented colleagues across the UK.
We’re currently the second-largest biscuit manufacturer in the UK – but our ambition is to become the UK Market Leader.
About the Role
We’re looking for Shift Operations Managers to join us at our Blackpool bakery. Two roles available:
- Permanent position
- 12-month Fixed-Term Contract (FTC)

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
