Shift Supervisor

Location: Guildford

Contract Type: Permanent

Work Schedule: 12-hour shifts | 5 on / 5 off x 6 cycles, then a 15-day break

Shift Pattern: Days 06:00-18:00 | Nights 18:00-06:00

Key Responsibilities

  • Drive daily oil production and gas import/export targets through DCS/SCADA control systems
  • Optimise station performance and resolve abnormal conditions early
  • Coordinate operator activity across the station and wellsite
  • Liaise with oil export customers on expected rates and quality
  • Manage day-ahead communication with the power supply provider
  • Oversee Permit to Work in the Shift Superintendent's absence
  • Delegate and track first-line maintenance on gas and utility equipment
  • Act as deputy Incident Controller for abnormal or emergency situations
  • Deliver clear written and verbal shift handovers
  • Support daily, weekly, and monthly site reporting

  • 5-10 years' experience supervising, operating, or maintaining an oil and/or gas production facility
  • ONC or BTEC ordinary certificate in an engineering discipline, or equivalent
  • NVQ Level 3 in Process Operations
  • NEBOSH National Certificate in Oil and Gas Safety
  • Hands-on experience with distributed control, IT, and safety systems
  • Ability to translate PFDs, P&IDs, and schematics into operating procedure
  • Confident communicator at every level, from operators to emergency services
  • Full, valid UK driving licence
