Shift Supervisor
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Shift Supervisor to join our established team at Tedd Engineering. The Shift Supervisor role is responsible for leading and coordinating all production activities during an assigned shift, ensuring that production targets, quality standards and safety requirements are consistently achieved. Acting as the senior operational leader on shift, the Shift Supervisor oversees Team Leaders and production teams across multiple departments, driving performance, accountability and efficient resource allocation. The role involves monitoring production progress, resolving operational issues, maintaining compliance with quality and safety standards and ensuring effective communication between shifts and management. Additionally, the Shift Supervisor supports employee development, continuous improvement initiatives and operational excellence to ensure customer requirements and business objectives are met in a safe and productive way.

Main Tasks and Responsibilities
- Lead and coordinate all production activities across assigned manufacturing areas to achieve production targets
- Ensure production schedules and priorities are delivered in line with business requirements
- Allocate labour and resources effectively to maximise productivity and efficiency
- Monitor production performance and take corrective action to address issues and bottlenecks
- Lead, support, and develop Team Leaders to ensure operational objectives are met
- Manage day-to-day operational issues and coordinate activities across multiple departments
- Ensure compliance with quality standards, work instructions, and manufacturing procedures
- Promote a Right First-Time culture and support the resolution of quality concerns and non-conformances
- Act as the senior safety leader on shift, ensuring adherence to all health, safety, and environmental requirements
- Lead investigations into incidents, hazards, and near misses, ensuring corrective actions are completed
- Ensure effective communication and shift handovers between departments and management team
- Monitor and report shift performance, escalating operational risks and issues where necessary
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance productivity, quality, safety, and operational performance
- Support employee development, onboarding, recruitment, and succession planning activities
- Maintain high standards of housekeeping, organisation, and workplace discipline throughout production areas

Background and Experience
- Previous experience in a supervisory, team leader, or production management role within a manufacturing environment
- Proven ability to lead and motivate teams to achieve production and operational targets
- Experience managing multiple departments, production lines, or manufacturing processes
- Strong knowledge of health & safety, quality standards, and operational compliance
- Experience investigating and resolving production, quality, and performance issues
- Ability to analyse performance data and implement corrective actions
- Experience with Continuous Improvement, Lean Manufacturing, or problem-solving methodologies
- Strong communication skills with experience coordinating across departments and shifts
- Experience supporting employee performance management, training, and development activities
- Competent in production reporting and performance monitoring systems
