Shift Supervisor
Pay: £33,000 base, plus paid overtime for every additional hour beyond your 40-hour week. Typical earnings last year were between £35,000 and £42,000.
Hours: Full time, 40 hours a week. Our sites run 24 hours a day, so the rota includes some early starts and late finishes, with weekend and night shifts from time to time.
Zapp delivers premium groceries across London in minutes, 24 hours a day, from 10 fulfillment centers, and we are opening more. As Shift Supervisor you are accountable for one of those sites for the length of your shift.
What You Bring
You have managed a frontline team before. Warehouse, grocery, retail, food production, hospitality: the industry matters far less than whether you have stood in front of a team, set the pace, and been accountable for what they delivered. If you have not managed people, this is not the right role for you.
What You Will Own
- The Shift: You are the most senior person on site and the calls are yours to make. Nobody is standing behind you.
- The Team: Up to 15 associates, and whether they hit the day or miss it comes down to how you run it.
- The Numbers: Productivity, order accuracy, stock integrity, and waste. You will know them, explain them, and be expected to move them.
- The People: You induct new starters, coach, and train those that are ready for progression.
- The Site: Safe, in good order, and audit-ready every day. All health and safety measures reviewed and implemented on every shift.
- The Handover: Whatever you leave behind is what the next supervisor starts with.
Reasons to use Rodeo
I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

What You Get
- Paid overtime for every additional hour beyond your 40-hour week.
- A real route to Fulfilment Centre Manager. We are opening new sites and most of our managers came up through the floor.
- Every month your site passes its audit, the team earns a set amount per head, and that pays for quarterly socials at the FC. Run a tight shift and your team feels the benefit.
- 28 days of holiday.
What Changed, and Why
- Pay and Overtime: Lead the advert. Where no salary is given, platforms publish their own estimate built from generic retail and hospitality data, which sits below what we actually pay.
- Opening Paragraph: Removed. The advert goes straight from pay, hours, and location into what the role requires.
- Managerial Experience: Now a standalone section with a plain instruction not to apply without it. Previously it sat as one bullet inside a list of nine, under an industry list that read as an open invitation.
- Industry Requirement: Deliberately wide. The bar is management, not warehousing, so naming several sectors widens the pool without lowering the standard.
- Enforce Attendance Procedures: Removed. Nobody has ever applied for a job because of that line.
- Shift Pattern: Stated rather than described as flexibility. Vague shift wording loses good candidates who cannot tell whether the job fits their life.
- Progression to Fulfilment Centre Manager: Named, with evidence. It is the strongest hook available for an ambitious supervisor working elsewhere.
- Team Reward: For passing monthly audits is now included. It is concrete, unusual, and it speaks to someone who wants to lead a team rather than simply cover a shift.
- What You Will Do: Now "What you will own", rewritten around accountability rather than tasks. The previous list read as senior associate work, which is the wrong signal for someone who already manages a team and is choosing between offers.
- Earnings Figures: Come from Shyftplan data for the 12 months to 26 July 2026: median about £34,900, upper quartile £42,600. The earlier £37,000 to £40,000 range reflected the mean, which a handful of very high overtime earners pull upward, so it overstated what a new joiner should expect.
“It took my CV and asked me questions relevant to understanding what kind of jobs to suggest for me. Suggestions were almost perfect. Jobs were exactly what I’ve been looking for.”
