Here at GXO, we’re looking for a Shift Supervisor to join our operation in Mossend. This is an exciting opportunity for an ambitious leader to develop their career with a global logistics organisation, leading a team to achieve productivity, quality, safety, and customer service objectives. Working closely with the Warehouse and Transport Manager, you’ll be responsible for ensuring the smooth running of the operation, maintaining high standards, and creating an environment where colleagues can thrive.
This is a full-time, permanent position. You will work our night shift covering ‘any 5 from 7’ including weekends, covering 45 hours per week.
Pay, benefits and more:
We’re looking to offer a salary of up to £34,500 per annum, and 33 days annual leave (inclusive of bank holidays). What you’ll do on a typical day:
- Lead and manage the day-to-day shift operation, ensuring productivity, quality, efficiency and customer service targets are achieved
- Coach, motivate and develop colleagues, supporting performance management, training needs and overall team engagement
- Monitor operational KPIs, identify improvement opportunities and implement changes to enhance performance and service delivery
- Promote a strong health and safety culture, ensuring full compliance with company policies, procedures and safe systems of work
- Effectively plan workloads, prioritise tasks and deliver clear shift handovers to maintain operational continuity
What you need to succeed at GXO:
- Previous team management experience within a warehouse, logistics or transport environment
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to influence, develop and motivate teams
- Excellent communication skills, with confidence interacting at all levels across the business
- A proactive and organised approach, with strong problem-solving and decision-making capabilities
- Good understanding of operational systems and transport planning tools, with a commitment to continuous improvement
