The Shift Team Leader role comes with a starting salary of up to £68,000 plus benefits package.

Responsibilities and duties of the Shift Team Leader role
Reporting To The Operations Manager You Will
- Lead and coordinate the activities of the shift operations team to ensure safe and efficient plant performance
- Take delegated responsibility for site operations outside of standard office hours
- Act as Senior Authorised Person, issuing and cancelling safety documentation in line with site safety rules
- Respond to and manage operational incidents and emergencies in accordance with the site emergency plan
- Ensure the facility operates in full compliance with environmental permits, planning conditions and statutory requirements
- Monitor plant performance and take proactive steps to optimise availability, reliability and efficiency
- Oversee waste acceptance to ensure only compliant materials are processed
- Maintain accurate shift logs, operational reports and incident documentation
- Deliver structured and effective shift handovers
- Support the development, coaching and performance management of shift personnel
- Promote a strong safety culture and high standards of housekeeping across the site
- Provide shift cover where required to maintain operational continuity

Professional Qualifications
We are looking for someone with the following:
- Extensive operational experience within a power generation environment such as Energy from Waste, CCGT, biomass, coal or oil-fired plant, or relevant experience as a Royal Navy Marine Engineer
- Strong understanding of health and safety legislation, environmental compliance and safe systems of work
- Experience operating under formal safety rules and permit to work systems
- Proven ability to make sound operational decisions in a fast-paced environment
- Level 3 qualification in relevant subject such as operations or engineering.
- Happy to work a shift pattern that includes day and night shifts.
