Shift Technician - Production Team at Wrexham

We’re looking for a Shift Technician to join our Production Team at Wrexham. As a Shift Technician you will play a key role in ensuring the efficient operation and maintenance of both front-end and back-end production equipment. This includes running and maintaining critical plant machinery such as body-makers, trimmers, conveyors, presses, coaters, decorators, LSMs, Belvac, Neckers and light testers.

You will perform regular quality checks, carrying out neck diameter changes and take part in overhauls and project work as required. Additionally you will support the maintenance of all plant services.

Key Responsibilities

  • Running and maintaining both front-end and back-end equipment
  • Conduct regular quality checks and changes including neck diameter changes
  • Participate in overhauls, project work and plant service maintenance
  • Achieving production targets, implementing spoilage controls and maintaining housekeeping standards in line with 6S
  • Adhere to health and safety protocols

  • A time-served apprenticeship or equivalent in an engineering discipline
  • HNC in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering
  • Previous experience in a similar role within a fast paced, high volume manufacturing environment
  • Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team
  • A flexible, action-orientated approach with a genuine desire to achieve results
  • Willingness, with appropriate training, to support other areas of the business when required
  • Competent in the use of Microsoft Office applications (e.g. Word, Outlook)

Hours of Work

12 hour shifts - 4 on / 4 off (2 days / 2 nights)
