Dalkia have an opportunity for a permanent Shift Technician to be based at our client's facility Tate Britain.
Hours
- 42 hours per week
- Rota covering Day shifts and Night shifts: 5 on, 4 off, 5 on, 5 off, 4 on, 5 off
- 6.30am – 6.30pm / 6.30pm – 6.30am
Job Purpose
To carry out planned preventative maintenance to the Building Services encompassing reactive works and emergency procedures ensuring they are expedited with the minimum delay. Able to work unsupervised and apply own initiative working across a rostered 24/7 shift arrangement across Tate's London Portfolio.

Aims and Objectives
- Ensure adherence to Health and Safety at all times
- To be responsive and cooperative and achieve the required tasks set
- Be part of a cohesive working team to provide a high level of service to the customer.
- To carry out PPM in accordance with set schedules, ensuring engineering standards are maintained in order to maximise the operational effectiveness and reliability of the Plant and associated mechanical and electrical systems.
- To operate building services plants to ensure optimum performance and environmental conditions are maintained within set parameters
- To ensure all site procedures are complied with
- To ensure quality assurance procedures are adhered to in all respects and to maintain accurate records/documentation associated with PPM and plant.
- Meet /exceed service level agreement objectives where set
Key Responsibilities And Accountabilities
- Repair of electrical systems and controls associated with Heating and Ventilating Building Services.
- Operation, repair and maintenance of lighting and distribution systems.
- Electrical fault diagnosis associated with the PPM or Reactive maintenance of the site.
- Provide reports in relation to work and equipment as required, including completion of site logs utilising all reporting tools.
- To maintain stores systems.
- To respond to call outs and cover breakdowns and emergencies associated with the plant services aspects of the contract as required.
- Repair and resolve public health system issues.
- Assist other trades as required. To undertake miscellaneous duties as instructed.
- Provide cover for other staff when on holiday or during sickness absence

Working Relationships
Internal
- To work coherently with other members of the SPIE team, receive and act on calls from the FM help desk, work planner, Lead Technician and managers.
External
- Customer duty management staff, security and general customer employees to deliver first class service, liaison and assistance with SPIE specialist contractors as required
Person Specification
Essential
Qualifications, Experience, Knowledge and Skills
- City & Guilds Parts 1 and 2 (Electrical Installation 2360) or recognised equivalent; or
- 16th or 17th Edition Institute of Electrical Engineers (I.E.E) Registration or recognised equivalent; or
- Electrical Apprenticeship – gained within the building maintenance industry
- Health and Safety Training
- GCSE (or ‘O' Level equivalent) passes in Maths and English or recognised equivalent
- Experience with similar maintenance duties including fault diagnosis and rectification.
- Experience in the Electrical aspects of general building PPM schedules
- Experienced in electrical installation work.
Desirable
- City & Guilds Part 3 (Electrical Installation 2360) or recognised equivalent
- Experience in computer PPM management systems (Concept EVO)
- Understanding of High Voltage / LV switching Competent /Authorised person activities
- Basic Mechanical experience/knowledge
- Supervisory experience for future development

Role Specific Objectives

Engagement and participation in contract specific training plans will be compulsory including regular progress reviews with a target score up to 82% to be attained within 6 months
