Shift Technician - Critical Facilities / Data Centre
We are currently seeking an experienced Shift Technician to join a critical Data Centre environment, supporting the safe, reliable and efficient operation of critical M&E infrastructure.
This is a great opportunity for an experienced Data Centre Technician, Critical Facilities Technician, Shift Engineer or Maintenance Engineer looking to develop their career within a mission-critical environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out planned and reactive maintenance across a critical Data Centre
- Monitor and operate critical M&E infrastructure
- Respond quickly and effectively to equipment faults and alarms
- Conduct fault finding and support incident resolution
- Carry out routine inspections and plant room checks
- Support maintenance of HV/LV electrical systems, UPS, generators, switchgear, cooling and HVAC systems
- Monitor and respond to BMS/SCADA alarms
- Follow site SOPs, EOPs, RAMS, PTW and LOTO procedures
- Support contractors and specialist engineering vendors
- Maintain accurate shift logs, maintenance records and handovers
- Ensure all work is completed safely and in accordance with site procedures
- Provide effective communication during shift handovers and critical incidents

Essential Experience
- Previous experience within a Data Centre, Critical Environment, Industrial, Commercial or similar engineering environment
- Strong electrical and/or mechanical maintenance background
- Experience with planned and reactive maintenance
- Good fault-finding and problem-solving skills
- Understanding of critical infrastructure and operational procedures
- Knowledge of UPS, generators, HVAC, cooling systems and electrical distribution is advantageous
- Comfortable working within a 24/7 shift environment
- Strong commitment to Health & Safety and safe working practices

Desirable
- Data Centre / Mission-Critical experience
- Electrical or Mechanical engineering qualification
- BMS/SCADA experience
- UPS and generator experience
- LV switching experience
- Experience working with PTW, RAMS, LOTO, SOPs and EOPs
- HV experience is desirable but not essential
