Denholm Port Services work across all shipping trades within the industry including tankers, cruise, dry cargo, offshore and project cargo. Regular out of hours evening and weekend work on rota basis, overtime payment applicable.

An exciting opportunity to join our Tyne-Tees branch based in Billingham servicing all Ports in the Tyne-Tees region. The role may also include the requirement to occasionally provide cover in the Humber region and possibly assist in other areas of the country.

What You’ll Do:

  • Booking vessels to berth and anchor with relevant Port/Harbour Authority.
  • Booking necessary services for ships arrival and departure including but not limited to pilotage, towage, linesmen.
  • Booking necessary services for ships stay including but not limited to waste removal, fresh water, trash removal, gangway, fenders, cranes, forklift.
  • Arranging required husbandry services including but not limited to emergency medical appointments, ships spares, ships stores, launch services.
  • Arranging required crew change services including but not limited to taxis, hotels.
  • Coordinating all services to ensure a smooth call
  • Completing /processing / Handling all required paperwork for arrival and departure as required by Port Authority, UKBF, Port Health etc – CERS, Health Declaration, FAL forms.
  • Preparing Port Call Estimates and keeping Port Call Expenses up to date within Operating System (GATShip)
  • Processing invoices relating to services in order to raise final invoice to client.
  • Sending prospects / cargo updates / sailing updates to all involved parties.
  • Following client specific procedures as required.

What We’re Looking For:

  • The ideal candidate will be hardworking and enthusiastic with an eye for detail.
  • Strong organisational and communication skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and adapt to changing priorities.
  • Experience in port agency, cruise ship operations, or maritime logistics (highly desirable but not mandatory)
  • Excellent IT and administrative skills (with experience using Microsoft)
  • A flexible, can-do mindset that thrives in fast-paced, changing environments
  • Ability to work independently while being part of a wider operational team
  • Willingness to travel between ports
  • A valid UK driver's licence and the ability to work variable hours, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and public holidays
