Group/Division

KLA has manufacturing sites worldwide. The Global Operations (GOPS) team, comprised of Manufacturing, Supply Chain Management, Manufacturing Engineering, Installation and Quality, builds our leading-edge technology. GOPS partners with KLA's global supply base and design engineering teams to develop new products, working continuously to build better, faster and more cost-efficient solutions.

What You'll Do

In this role, you will play a key part in advancing business priorities by delivering high-impact work across your area of expertise.

This role will be based at our Newport facility and forms part of our high-performing Manufacturing Operations team.

Purpose of the role

Our Shipment Acceptance Technician will join our manufacturing operation, ensuring our products are prepared, inspected, and presented to the highest standards for customer acceptance and final shipment. This role plays a key part in delivering an outstanding customer experience by ensuring systems are fully configured, compliant, visually presentable, ready for installation at customer sites worldwide!

This role operates on a rotating shift pattern:

  • Week 1: Monday to Friday, 6:00am to 2:00pm
  • Week 2: Monday to Friday, 2:00pm to 10:00pm

There may also be an occasional requirement to work night shifts.

Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

  • Prepare, decommission, and present semiconductor processing modules for customer handover and final shipment.
  • Complete final assembly activities, including fitting panels, covers, and associated components to ensure products meet company and customer quality standards.
  • Perform detailed inspections and quality checks to verify products are complete, approved, and ready for customer handover.
  • Support packing and shipment activities, ensuring equipment is protected, documented, and presented to the required standard.
  • Follow established Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and quality processes, maintaining accurate documentation and records.
  • Review Bills of Materials (BOMs), engineering drawings, specifications, and associated documentation to ensure correct product configuration.
  • Collaborate with Quality, Engineering, Manufacturing, Test, and Logistics teams to resolve issues and maintain delivery commitments.
  • Find opportunities to improve product quality, efficiency, and manufacturing processes through continuous improvement activities.
  • Support the development and enhancement of SOPs to drive consistency, product quality, and customer satisfaction.
  • Promote a strong culture of quality, safety, and attention to detail throughout manufacturing operations.

For this role we are looking for someone who has:

  • Experience within a manufacturing, assembly, engineering, production, aerospace, automotive, defence, or related technical environment
  • A strong dedication to quality and experience working to detailed inspection standards
  • Can confidently interpret technical drawings, engineering documentation, and assembly instructions
  • Excellent attention to detail and pride in delivering work to the highest standard
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a logical approach to identifying and resolving issues
  • A continuous improvement approach who can identify process enhancements
  • Good interpersonal skills and the ability to build effective working relationships across multiple teams
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to handle priorities and meet deadlines.
  • A flexible and proactive approach to work
  • The ability to work both independently and as part of a team
