Normac Shipping Limited, established in December 2000 and based at the Port of Liverpool, specialises in bulk cargo movements across the dry bulk sector. We provide a comprehensive range of services including Chartering, Port Agency, and Husbandry, supported by strong operational expertise and long-standing industry knowledge. As we continue to expand our service offering throughout the Port of Liverpool and beyond, we are seeking a highly motivated individual to join our team and support the next stage of our growth.

Role Description – Shipping Agent

This is a full-time, on-site role at Normac Shipping Limited in Liverpool. The Shipping Agent will be responsible for coordinating vessel operations, managing freight movements, and overseeing daily export and import processes. The role involves close communication with vessels, terminals, port authorities, and customers to ensure efficient and compliant port operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate vessel arrivals, port calls, and departures
  • Manage daily export and import processes and documentation
  • Liaise with masters, owners, terminals, and port authorities
  • Prepare and handle all shipping documents and operational paperwork
  • Complete disbursement accounts accurately and on time
  • Support operational requirements across multiple ports when required

Qualifications & Experience

  • Shipping/Maritime experience essential
  • Strong understanding of shipping documents and operational processes
  • Experience preparing Disbursement Accounts (DAs)
  • Proficient in Excel, Word, and general IT systems
  • Knowledge of export/import customs documentation (advantageous)
  • Excellent organisational and time-management skills
  • Strong communication and negotiation abilities
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
  • Knowledge of customs regulations and international trade practices
  • Full, clean UK driving licence (business travel required)
