FM Conway is recruiting a Shipping Coordinator Apprentice to join our Aggregate and Asphalt Division, working within our Shipping Agency Team.

This is a fantastic opportunity to earn while you learn, developing practical skills and industry knowledge as you work towards your Level 3 Supply Chain Practitioner qualification. You’ll work closely with the Shipping Team to develop a strong understanding of the coordination service of the Shipping and Rail Service we provide to our clients.
This is a full-time, permanent position based at our Gravesend site.
What will you be doing?
As a Shipping Coordinator Apprentice, you’ll combine your studies with practical, in-office experience. Your responsibilities will include:
- Working towards your Level 3 Supply Chain Practitioner qualification, developing the knowledge, skills and behaviours needed to succeed in the role
- Taking responsibility for successfully completing your apprenticeship and achieving your work-related qualifications, including your End Point Assessment
- Building relationships, coordinating Shipping by contacting vessels, booking vessels, establishing arrival times, liaising with port agencies and associated stevedores
- Generating orders, receipting goods and resolving invoice queries
- Providing general administration support to the team

You don’t need extensive industry experience to join us, we’re looking for someone who is reliable, hardworking and keen to learn
Ideally, you’ll have:
- A grade 4 or above in GCSE Maths and English
- A genuine interest in shipping and supply chain
- Good communication skills, written and verbal
- The ability to listen, follow instructions and work as part of a team
- A positive attitude and willingness to learn

We recycle highways arisings at our unique static crushing, washing and grading plants. The Recycled Asphalt Product (RAP) is used in our local asphalt plants to supply construction sites across London and Southern England.
