About the role:

The Shipping Coordinator oversees the end-to-end dispatch process, ensuring all outbound shipments are planned, prepared, documented, and dispatched accurately and on time. The role acts as the key link between warehouse operations, couriers, customers, and internal teams to maintain smooth logistics flow.

Key duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Liaise with couriers, freight partners, and hauliers to arrange collections, book transport slots, and secure competitive rates where applicable.
  • Monitor courier performance and escalate delays or service issues.
  • Oversee the preparation of shipping paperwork, including labels, certificates, customs declarations, and export documentation.
  • Ensure all documentation is accurate, compliant, and aligned with customer or regulatory requirements.
  • Verify order accuracy and packaging standards before dispatch.
  • Provide tracking information, delivery updates, and proactive communication on delays or issues.
  • Collaborate with Customer Service, Production, and Warehouse teams to resolve discrepancies or urgent requests.
  • Maintain accurate records of shipments, tracking numbers, courier invoices, and dispatch logs.
  • Support compliance with export controls, hazardous goods regulations, and company procedures.
  • Identify opportunities to streamline shipping processes, reduce errors, and improve dispatch efficiency.
  • Support implementation of new courier platforms, systems, or process changes.
  • Contribute to KPI reporting, including on-time dispatch, accuracy, and cost performance.

What we’re looking for:

Candidates must have the following essential qualifications and experience:

  • Previous experience within shipping
  • Knowledge and ability to use computers and related technology efficiently
  • Knowledge of export documentation and customs processes

The following are desirable:

  • SAP Experience
  • Knowledge of exporting military goods

Successful candidates will be able to demonstrate the following skills and aptitudes:

  • Attention to detail
  • The ability to work to instruction both individually and as part of a team.
