A Snapshot of Your Day

As a Shipping Coordinator within our Small Gas Turbine (SGT) business, you'll play a key role in ensuring our products reach customers in more than 90 countries safely, compliantly, and on time. Working as part of a collaborative and supportive team, you'll coordinate the movement of parts, tooling, engines, and complete gas turbine packages while ensuring all import and export activities meet customs regulations and customer expectations.

You'll work closely with freight forwarders, customs specialists, internal stakeholders, and third-party logistics providers to deliver an excellent customer experience. If you enjoy problem solving, building relationships, and working in a fast-paced international environment, this is an opportunity to make a real impact while developing your career within a global engineering organisation.

How You'll Make An Impact

  • Coordinate import and export shipments, ensuring customs compliance, preparing export documentation, certificates of origin, Dangerous Goods paperwork where required, and processing manual shipment requests.
  • Manage daily shipping activities by checking invoice accuracy, preparing shipment manifests, booking collections with approved freight forwarders, and supporting the preparation of customer shipments through third-party packaging providers.
  • Monitor shipments from despatch through to delivery, tracking proof of delivery, investigating shipping discrepancies, and resolving issues to ensure excellent customer service.
  • Build strong relationships with freight forwarders, customs specialists, export control teams, and internal stakeholders to support the timely delivery of customer projects.
  • Operate ERP systems and freight forwarder booking platforms to accurately process shipments while ensuring departmental processes and customs regulations are consistently followed.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement by identifying opportunities to optimise shipping processes while supporting the wider team during periods of increased business demand.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
