Shipping Manager
Our client is a leading and well-known distributor of health food products based in Central London who are recruiting a Shipping Manager to join their team and assist with all aspects of shipping, including import and export operations.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced shipping professional with strong knowledge of ocean freight, container shipments and international trade to take responsibility for managing shipments and ensuring the smooth running of the company's shipping operations.
This is a hybrid role with 1 day working from home. Benefits include an 8% employer pension contribution and private healthcare with BUPA.
Duties
- Managing import and export container shipments, including cross-trade
- Coordinating shipments with suppliers, freight forwarders, shipping lines and other logistics partners
- Managing the full ocean freight process from booking through to delivery
- Working with and applying Incoterms
- Understanding and managing import duties, tariffs and customs requirements
- Researching and identifying relevant duty, tariff and import information
- Ensuring all shipping and customs documentation is accurate and completed on time
- Monitoring shipments and resolving any issues or delays
- Processing shipping transactions using Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central
- Using Excel confidently for shipment tracking, reporting and analysis

About You
- Proven experience managing ocean freight and container shipments
- Strong knowledge of Import, Export and Cross-Trade
- Good understanding of Incoterms
- Knowledge of import duties, tariffs and customs procedures is desirable
- Strong Excel skills
- Knowledge of Business Central ERP would be an advantage
