Role Overview

The shipping office coordinator will assist in the preparations for daily shipments via (Air, Less than Truckload (LTL), Truckload (TL), Ocean, and Parcel). Assist in problem solving shipment issues with carriers in support with Customer Order Services (COS) teams. Provide updates to tracking systems and confirmation of pick-ups and deliveries. Will work with various transportation mode managers to drive continuous improvement of shipping processes and/or carrier changes.

Detail of Tasks/Assignments:

  • Plan freight in SAP for optimum container utilization based on freight size, weights, destination
  • Plan equipment as needed the most efficient way as possible to meet the customer installation needs
  • Tender loads to the carriers for outbound shipments
  • Provide carrier selection guidance to (LTL, TL, or Air) – as needed
  • Prepare shipment documentation for various carriers through SAP system or carrier websites – Domestic and International
  • Update shipment plans and departures in tracking systems on team Sharepoint sites
  • Work with carriers to resolve issues with deliveries, equipment availability and booking issues
  • Ability to multi-task through different responsibilities when needed: Transportation planning, domestic and export shipping processes.
  • Act as a resource to the Business should questions arise during shipping process
  • Aid in improvement opportunities to Kodak Transportation Managers
