Shipping Supervisor
Altrad are currently recruiting for a Shipping Supervisor to join our team based in Aberdeen.
The successful candidate will oversee daily shipping operations, ensuring timely, accurate, and efficient movement of goods. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, logistical expertise, and a commitment to maintaining high standards of safety and quality.
Key Deliverables
- Supervise, train, and manage the shipping team to optimize productivity and maintain adherence to company policies
- Coordinate daily shipping schedules, including dispatching, receiving, and transportation of goods.
- Monitor inventory levels and ensure accurate documentation for all shipped or received items.
- Communicate with internal departments, carriers, and clients to resolve shipping issues efficiently.
- Maintain and analyze shipping performance metrics to identify opportunities for process improvement.
- Conduct regular inspections and ensure all shipping is completed in accordance with applicable legislation including supervising all dangerous goods & radioactive shipments.
- Participate in budget planning and cost control for shipping operations.
- Responsible for ensuring that customer and company deliverables are met.
- Being the focal point for the co-ordination of day-to-day interface between Mechanical, Inspection, Scaffolding and Operations to ensure client needs are met.
- Lead a team responsible for the Preparing, Packaging and Containerization of Plant Equipment & Consumables to Client work sites and offshore locations.
- Planning & Delegation of work scopes including liaising closely with all Base Facility departments to ensure shipping deadlines are met.
- Assist in the co-ordination of all transportation and logistics including container stock allocation.
- Participate in International Shipments & ensuring custom compliance checks are completed.
- Ensuring the compilation & filing of Document work packs are completed by team.

Key Qualifications / Requirements

- Current IMDG Dangerous Goods by Sea/Road certification
- Current IMDG Radioactive by Sea/Road certification
- Computer literacy
- 12 Ton Forklift
- Good communication, interpersonal, organizational skills, team player
- Excellent aptitude towards Health & Safety
- Must be prepared to spend time with team developing their skills and expertise
- Experience in a comparable Supervisor role.
