Shop Assistant - Full-Time & Part-Time
SPAR Newcastle, Newcastle Service Station, Newcastle, Co. Dublin, is recruiting Shop Assistant (Full-Time & Part-Time) to join our fantastic team. If you are enthusiastic, customer-focused, and enjoy working in a fast-paced environment, we would love to hear from you.
- Deliver excellent customer service in a friendly, professional, and efficient manner
- Operate tills and handle cash transactions accurately in line with company procedures
- Assist customers with queries, purchases, and in-store promotions
- Maintain high standards of store presentation, cleanliness, and housekeeping
- Receive, check, replenish, and rotate stock in accordance with company guidelines
- Support stock control activities, including stock takes and waste reduction
- Follow all health, safety, food safety, and HACCP procedures
- Prepare food products in line with company standards and food safety regulations
- Help prevent stock loss and ensure a safe shopping environment for customers and colleagues
- Carry out other reasonable duties as required by the Store Manager

- Previous experience as a Shop Assistant in a busy retail, forecourt, or convenience store environment
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Good numerical abilities and cash-handling skills
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team
- Ability to use initiative and work independently when required
- Sound judgement with the ability to make decisions
- Self-motivated, reliable, and customer-focused
- Flexibility to work evening and weekend shifts
- Strong customer service skills with a friendly and professional manner
