We're looking for a committed and experienced Shop Manager to lead our Isabel Hospice charity shop in Sawbridgeworth.

Each of our shops has its own character, and as Manager, you'll play a key role in upholding our strong reputation within the local community. Your work won’t just help reduce landfill waste - it will also support our mission to provide expert care for those who need it most.

Our retail teams work on a rota to meet the needs of the shop, so flexibility is essential. This role includes weekend work and follows a 4 days over 7 shift pattern.

What will I be doing?

  • Ensuring high standards of display, presentation, and cleanliness are maintained throughout the shop
  • Leading by example, providing excellent customer care to enhance the shopping experience
  • Maximizing sales and profits, achieving key objectives for the shop
  • Guiding, inspiring, and engaging a team of paid staff and volunteers
  • Meeting gift aid conversion rates from people donating goods
  • Supporting events held both in the shop (evenings) and the local community

What skills are required?

  • Retail management experience
  • An interest in and / or experience of working with sustainable fashion
  • Experience of managing and inspiring a diverse team of people
  • Excellent organisational skills
  • Understanding, respect and consideration for others at all times
  • A good knowledge of email, MS Office and the internet
  • A ‘can do’ approach to work
  • Someone who communicates well, both verbally and in writing
  • And ideally experience of working within charity retail
