📍 West Bridgford, Nottingham ⏰ 37.5 hours per week | 5 days out of 7 on a rota basis

At Rainbows Hospice for Children and Young People, we provide specialist palliative and end-of-life care to more than 750 babies, children and young people living with life-limiting conditions, while supporting around 3,000 family members, siblings and carers across the East Midlands. Together, we help brighten short lives and support families when they need us most.

We're looking for an enthusiastic and commercially minded Shop Manager to lead our brand-new West Bridgford store. This is a unique opportunity to play a key role in the launch and success of a new retail venture while helping raise vital funds for Rainbows.

About The Role

As Shop Manager, you'll take ownership of the day-to-day running of the store, leading a team of staff and volunteers to maximise income, deliver exceptional customer service, and create an engaging shopping experience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Drive sales, profitability and store performance through effective stock management and merchandising.
  • Maximise donations and Gift Aid income.
  • Ensure a steady supply of high-quality, saleable stock.
  • Recruit, train, develop and inspire volunteers and staff.
  • Work closely with the E-commerce Manager to grow online sales through platforms such as eBay and Depop.
  • Maintain a safe, welcoming and compliant retail environment.

Essential

What We're Looking For

  • Experience managing a retail environment.
  • Strong leadership and people management skills.
  • Excellent customer service skills and a passion for delivering high standards.
  • Experience managing and developing diverse teams.
  • Experience recruiting, training and motivating volunteers.
  • Confidence managing budgets and working towards financial targets.

Desirable

  • A proven track record of successfully managing a retail outlet.
  • Experience working with volunteers within the charity sector.
  • Knowledge of risk assessments and health and safety practices.
  • Personal volunteering experience.
