Company Description
Martello Group is an experienced team of shopfitters that combines broad industry knowledge with flexibility to ensure projects are completed to a high standard. The company has recently delivered a roll-out of stores for a national retail chain, as well as ongoing maintenance and compliance work for various retailers. Martello Group focuses on reliable, high-quality service across all aspects of shopfitting and retail fit-out. In the coming months, the company will introduce a specialist logistics division dedicated to urgent, time-sensitive loads, expanding its support for retail partners.
Role Description
This full-time, on-site Shopfitter role is based in the United Kingdom. The Shopfitter will be responsible for installing and fitting out retail interiors, including counters, shelving, displays, partitions, and fixtures, according to project plans and specifications. Day-to-day tasks include reading and interpreting drawings, measuring and cutting materials, assembling and installing units, and ensuring finishes meet quality and safety standards. The role involves working closely with project managers, other trades, and clients to meet deadlines, maintain clean and safe work areas, and support maintenance and compliance activities as needed. The Shopfitter may also assist with time-sensitive logistics and store roll-outs, requiring flexibility with working hours and travel to different sites.

Qualifications
- Demonstrated experience in shopfitting, carpentry, or joinery, with strong skills in measuring, cutting, assembling, and installing fixtures and fittings.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, plans, and specifications, and translate them into accurate, high-quality installations.
- Strong knowledge of construction and installation tools, materials, and methods, including safe operation of hand and power tools.
- Understanding of health and safety regulations on-site, with a commitment to safe working practices and compliance standards.
- Effective communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to collaborate with supervisors, colleagues, and clients on fast-paced projects.
- Good problem-solving and time-management abilities, including adaptability to changing project requirements and tight deadlines.
- Willingness to travel to various sites within the United Kingdom and work flexible hours as needed for roll-outs and urgent projects.
- Relevant trade qualifications or certifications in carpentry, shopfitting, or construction are preferred; experience in retail fit-outs is an advantage.
