About The Role
We are seeking a skilled Shopify Developer to join our dynamic team in Plymouth. This role is primarily focused on front-end development within an e-commerce environment, emphasizing Shopify Liquid, JavaScript, HTML, and CSS. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in enhancing and evolving a high-traffic online retail platform, contributing to feature development, system integrations, and performance optimization. This position offers a unique opportunity to work on a large-scale digital commerce platform, with ownership of key projects and the potential to influence the technical direction of the development team. The ideal candidate will be passionate about creating seamless user experiences, improving platform usability, and supporting ongoing platform enhancements to meet evolving business needs.

Qualifications
The ideal candidate should possess a combination of technical expertise and practical experience, including:
- Proven commercial experience in modern web development, particularly within e-commerce platforms
- Hands-on experience working with Shopify and Shopify Liquid templating language
- Strong proficiency in JavaScript, HTML, and CSS
- Experience developing within templating systems used in e-commerce environments
- Exposure to React and TypeScript is advantageous
- Understanding of APIs, system integrations, and external service consumption
- Proficiency with Git and contemporary development workflows
- Knowledge of build tooling, package management, and version control
- Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks effectively, and meet deadlines
- Experience working in fast-paced digital or retail environments
Responsibilities
The Shopify Developer will be responsible for a range of technical and collaborative tasks, including:
- Developing bespoke front-end functionalities and reusable components to enhance the user experience
- Building engaging landing pages, customer journeys, and interactive features that drive conversions
- Integrating third-party systems and external services to extend platform capabilities
- Optimizing platform performance, usability, and maintainability to ensure a seamless shopping experience
- Supporting the deployment of releases, promotional campaigns, and ongoing platform improvements
- Collaborating closely with internal design, marketing, and commercial teams to align development with business objectives
- Contributing to the establishment of development standards, tooling, and workflows for the engineering team
- Helping shape the future technical direction of the company's digital platform and engineering practices
