Shopify / Full-Stack Developer
Location: North London – hybrid (4 days in the office, 1 day WFH)
About us
We’re a B Corp certified UK supplement brand with around 150–190 products, selling through our own website as well as Amazon, TikTok Shop and major UK high street retailers.
We’re a small, fast-moving team where decisions get made quickly and developers have a direct connection to the commercial impact of their work.
The role
We’re looking for an experienced Shopify / Full-Stack Developer to take ownership of two important areas of the business. First, you’ll own our Shopify website and the work that makes it convert better, beginning with a full redesign. Second, you’ll take ownership of the internal platform our business runs on, together with the APIs and integrations connecting us with partners, suppliers, sales channels and other systems.
You’ll work closely with our operations, ecommerce and marketing teams. They’ll help set the brief and test the output; you’ll own the build and the technical decisions behind it.
There’s a significant pipeline of development ahead. Beyond the initial website rebuild, we have additional brands and new sites planned, so this is a role with a continual series of things to build rather than one large project followed by maintenance.
We’re bringing more of our development capability in-house so we can work faster, shorten feedback loops and give our developer much greater visibility of the commercial impact of their work.
Your first challenge
Your first major project will be rebuilding our Shopify site. The design and intent already exist and some of the work has been drafted, so you’ll be picking up a project in progress while having plenty of opportunity to shape how it is built. Once launched, the focus moves towards ongoing landing pages, experimentation and conversion optimisation. Alongside this, you’ll take ownership of our internal platform: a substantial React and PostgreSQL application, built rapidly using AI-assisted development and used throughout the business every day.
Your job will be to keep building it, improving it and making good technical decisions as it evolves.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

What you’ll do
Shopify, ecommerce & conversion
- Own our Shopify storefront, including theme development, product pages and site performance.
- Deliver the website redesign within your first three months and own the technical decisions behind the build.
- Own website measurement, including analytics events, server-side tagging and attribution.
- Work with the ecommerce team to identify, implement and measure conversion improvements.
- Build landing pages for campaigns, products and new brands at campaign speed.
- Improve the customer journey from landing page through to completed checkout.
- Build new Shopify storefronts as additional brands launch.
- Bring your own technical and commercial perspective rather than simply implementing requests.
Internal platform & integrations
- Take ownership of the internal application used by our operations, commercial and support teams.
- Work across React, TypeScript and PostgreSQL, with serverless functions handling background processes.
- Build features end-to-end, from database through to front end.
- Own database schema, migrations and access-control rules.
- Own the integrations connecting our sales channels, ERP and other business-critical tools.
What we’re looking for
This is a new role bringing together responsibilities currently spread across external development, AI-assisted development and internal teams. You’ll have a genuine opportunity to shape the technical capabilities of the business and how quickly we can turn ideas into working products.
Essential
- Strong Shopify experience, including theme development, Liquid, apps and checkout.
- Experience building or rebuilding a Shopify store and a good understanding of the platform’s limitations.
- Hands-on conversion rate optimisation (CRO) experience. You’ve run the full process yourself and can explain changes you made and the results they produced.
- Working knowledge of analytics, tagging and attribution, including heatmaps and session-recording tools.
- Regular use of AI coding tools. You understand where they accelerate development, where they fail and how to review their output critically.
- A solid understanding of databases, APIs, front-end and back-end development.
- Experience owning a database-backed application end-to-end.
- The ability to work effectively from briefs written by non-technical colleagues and challenge or reshape those briefs when necessary.
- Self-motivated, collaborative and comfortable discussing an approach before putting it into production.
- A strong eye for UX/UI and an understanding of what works for customers.

Get help with your application
Your very own career expert that helps elevate your application to the next level.
Our current stack includes React, TypeScript and PostgreSQL. Experience with all three is useful, but not essential if you have the underlying full-stack experience and can get up to speed quickly.
Desirable
- Strong engineering judgement and the ability to understand an unfamiliar codebase quickly.
- A security mindset, particularly around data access and permissions.
- Direct-to-consumer or ecommerce experience with physical products.
- Experience with Amazon, TikTok Shop or eBay.
- Klaviyo or similar email/CRM platforms.
- Experience working in regulated categories such as supplements, food or cosmetics.
- Experience as the sole or lead developer on a product.
How we work
AI-assisted development is a standard part of our development process. Our internal platform has been built extensively using agent-led development, and our tooling is designed around this way of working.
We’re not looking for someone who simply accepts AI-generated code. Your judgement, review and engineering experience are what make the output good, and you’ll take ownership of what ultimately ships.
You’ll also have support around you, including a design team producing creative assets and an ecommerce function helping to manage the website rebuild and conversion roadmap.
You’ll be the person responsible for building it and deciding how it should be built.
Why join?
You’ll have significant autonomy, direct access to decision-makers and ownership of the technical choices you make.
Most importantly, you won’t be building in a vacuum. You’ll be able to see what your work does to the numbers, learn from it and use that feedback to decide what to build next.
