About the Role
This is an in-house role based in Liverpool.
We're looking for an experienced Ecommerce Trading Manager to take ownership of the Give Me Cosmetics commercial channels and play a key role in driving our digital growth. This is far more than a website management role. We're looking for someone who combines strong commercial awareness with technical ecommerce expertise, understanding how to optimise the customer journey whilst maximising trading performance, conversion, and revenue. You'll own our Shopify platform whilst driving the commercial performance and development of our wider ecommerce channels, including Amazon and TikTok Shop. From planning promotional campaigns, product launches, and merchandising strategies to improving SEO, customer experience, and platform functionality, you'll use data and insight to continually identify opportunities for growth across every customer touchpoint. Working closely with our Marketing, Product Development, Creative, Operations, and Customer Service teams, you'll ensure our ecommerce channels reflect the pace of the business, deliver an engaging shopping experience, and support our wider commercial objectives.
Key Responsibilities
As our Ecommerce Trading Manager, you'll have responsibility for the ongoing development, optimisation, and commercial performance of our ecommerce channels, with Shopify at the heart of the customer experience. You'll use data, customer insight, and your own expertise to identify opportunities for improvement, ensuring our digital platforms continue to evolve alongside customer expectations and business objectives.
Your responsibilities will include:
Managing and Developing our Shopify Platform
You'll be our in-house Shopify expert, taking hands-on ownership of the platform and ensuring the website is commercially optimised, technically robust, and continually evolving. This includes:
- Taking day-to-day ownership of Shopify, confidently managing products, variants, collections, navigation, menus, metafields, redirects, templates, and site content.
- Building and merchandising landing pages, collection pages, and product pages to support campaigns, launches, and trading priorities.
- Managing pricing, compare-at pricing, promotional mechanics, discounting, and onsite offers, ensuring campaigns are implemented accurately and effectively.
- Working closely with Marketing, Creative, and Product teams to ensure campaigns, content, and new launches are effectively represented across the website.
- Managing product launches and onsite changes, including scheduling and coordinating updates around key trading periods.
- Understanding and managing the Shopify app ecosystem, identifying where apps, integrations, or native Shopify functionality can improve performance or efficiency.
- Troubleshooting Shopify issues and taking ownership of resolving them, working with developers or external partners where specialist development support is required.
- Understanding Shopify themes and the fundamentals of Liquid, HTML, and CSS sufficiently to identify issues, make appropriate minor changes where possible, and confidently brief developers on larger requirements.
- Managing integrations between Shopify and relevant third-party platforms and systems, working with Operations and technical partners to ensure product, inventory, order, and customer data flows correctly.
- Using website analytics such as site speed, functionality, mobile experience, checkout journey, and overall UX to optimise conversion and maximise revenue.
- Staying ahead of Shopify releases, functionality, and ecommerce best practice and proactively recommending improvements and identifying opportunities.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.
