Shopper Marketing Manager – Wholesale (Interim Contract) - day rate - via Umbrella company

Location: Hybrid – London / South East - 1 day a week in office

Contract: 6 months - Urgent Start

Day Rate: Competitive


We’re looking for an experienced Shopper Marketing Manager to join a leading FMCG business and drive shopper activation across the wholesale, convenience and independent retail channels. Working across a portfolio of well-known consumer brands, you’ll lead the development and execution of customer and channel activation plans that drive visibility, conversion and commercial growth.

This is a hands-on contract role suited to someone who can quickly build relationships across sales, marketing and distributor teams, translate shopper insights into impactful activation, and deliver best-in-class execution across wholesale and route-to-market channels.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and deliver shopper marketing strategies across wholesale, convenience and independent retail channels.
  • Create and execute customer-specific activation plans in partnership with commercial and sales teams.
  • Build compelling customer selling stories and activation toolkits to support NPD launches and promotional campaigns.
  • Work closely with wholesalers, distributors and retail partners to ensure effective in-market execution.
  • Manage POS, in-store activation, digital and trade media campaigns across the shopper journey.
  • Use shopper, category and customer insights to identify growth opportunities and optimise campaign performance.
  • Collaborate with brand, category, insights and agency partners to deliver integrated activation plans.
  • Track campaign effectiveness, ROI and channel performance, providing recommendations for continuous improvement.

What We’re Looking For

  • Proven experience in shopper marketing, trade marketing or customer marketing within FMCG.
  • Strong knowledge of the wholesale, convenience and route-to-market landscape (e.g. Booker, Bestway, wholesale groups, independent retail or distributor networks).
  • Experience delivering NPD launches, promotional activations and customer-specific campaigns.
  • Ability to build retailer/distributor relationships and influence cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Strong commercial awareness with experience managing budgets and evaluating campaign ROI.
  • Excellent project management and execution skills in a fast-paced environment.

Desirable

  • Experience within drinks, food or wider FMCG categories.
  • Exposure to retail media, omnichannel activation and shopper insight tools.
  • Immediate availability or a short notice period.
