Job Description

The Opportunity

As Shopper Marketing Manager, you'll lead the development and execution of insight-led shopper marketing strategies across key grocery customers. You'll be responsible for translating brand ambitions, shopper insights, and customer objectives into compelling activation plans that drive conversion, category growth, and commercial success.

This role sits at the heart of the business, working closely with Sales, Brand, Category, Revenue Growth Management, and external agency partners to create best-in-class shopper experiences both in-store and online.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Lead shopper marketing activation plans across priority grocery customers with a category-first mindset.
  • Develop customer-specific plans that align brand strategy, category opportunities, and retailer objectives.
  • Deliver best-in-class retail media, omnichannel activation, in-store execution, and customer campaigns.
  • Partner with Sales, Brand, Category, and Revenue Growth Management teams to develop integrated customer plans.
  • Collaborate with retailer media teams and commercial contacts to build strong partnerships and unlock growth opportunities.
  • Lead activation planning for innovation launches, seasonal campaigns, and strategic business priorities.
  • Manage agency partners to ensure exceptional execution and continuous improvement.
  • Evaluate campaign effectiveness, shopper engagement, ROI, and sales performance, using insights to optimise future activity.
  • Manage activation budgets, forecasting, and investment tracking.
  • Champion shopper-centric thinking across the organisation.
  • Lead annual customer planning events and cross-functional workshops.
  • Coach and support junior team members and project teams where applicable.

Qualifications

What We're Looking For

We're looking for a commercially minded, highly collaborative FMCG professional who knows how to turn insight into action and deliver measurable results.

You'll ideally bring:

  • Experience in Shopper Marketing, Customer Marketing, Category Management, Sales, or a related commercial FMCG function.
  • Proven success developing and delivering retailer-specific activation plans.
  • Experience working with major UK grocery retailers.
  • Strong understanding of retail media and omnichannel shopper activation.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and influencing capabilities.
  • Strong commercial acumen and budget management experience.
  • Ability to analyse performance data and translate insights into actionable recommendations.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and storytelling skills.
  • A proactive mindset with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Confidence using data, technology, and AI-enabled tools to improve effectiveness and decision-making.
