Shopping Centre Manager

Edinburgh | £60,000 per annum | Permanent

Joshua Robert is partnering with an established property management organisation to recruit a Shopping Centre Manager for a prominent retail and leisure destination in Edinburgh.

This is a senior, highly visible role with overall responsibility for the day-to-day operation, facilities management, occupier experience and contractor performance across the centre.

The successful candidate will act as the key onsite point of contact for occupiers, contractors, property management and wider stakeholders, ensuring the centre remains safe, compliant, well maintained and commercially effective.

The Role

As Shopping Centre Manager, you will take ownership of the operational performance of the site, including:

  • Leading the day-to-day management of the shopping centre
  • Acting as the primary onsite contact for retailers, leisure operators and other occupiers
  • Overseeing hard and soft facilities management services
  • Managing cleaning, security, maintenance and specialist contractors
  • Monitoring contractor performance against agreed SLAs and KPIs
  • Overseeing planned and reactive maintenance
  • Ensuring compliance with health & safety, fire safety and statutory requirements
  • Supporting landlord works, refurbishments and occupier fit-outs
  • Managing operational incidents and emergency procedures
  • Supporting service charge expenditure and operational budgets
  • Producing regular operational and performance reporting
  • Maintaining strong relationships with occupiers, contractors and property stakeholders
  • Identifying opportunities to improve the customer and occupier experience
  • Ensuring consistently high standards across the centre

About You

We are looking for an experienced property or facilities professional with strong operational leadership and stakeholder-management capability.

You may currently be working as a:

  • Shopping Centre Manager
  • Centre Manager
  • Deputy Centre Manager
  • Operations Manager
  • Facilities Manager
  • Facilities Operations Manager
  • Senior Facilities Manager

Experience within a shopping centre, retail destination, mixed-use development, leisure environment or other high-footfall public-facing property would be particularly relevant.

You will ideally bring:

  • Experience managing both hard and soft FM services
  • Strong contractor and supplier management experience
  • Excellent occupier and stakeholder-management skills
  • A sound understanding of health & safety and statutory compliance
  • Experience operating within a busy customer-facing environment
  • Confidence managing multiple operational priorities
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills
  • Commercial awareness and a proactive approach to property management

Qualifications such as IOSH, NEBOSH or IWFM would be advantageous but are not essential.

Salary: £60,000 per annum
