Job Introduction
The SEND Short Breaks Team supports children and young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) to access enriching activities, develop independence, build friendships and participate fully in their local communities. Working closely with families, providers and partner agencies, the team assesses individual needs, coordinates tailored short break opportunities and monitors service quality to ensure positive outcomes for children and young people. Through a strong commitment to co-production, inclusion and continuous improvement, the team plays a key role in strengthening family resilience and improving life opportunities for SEND families across the Bradford district.
Role Description
We are looking for a Short Breaks Assessment Manager to join our dedicated team in the Improvement and Partnership Department. This role is an opportunity to make a real difference in our vibrant and diverse city.
The Main Responsibilities Of This Role
The post-holder's main role is to manage the efficient day to day operational running of a team of Short Breaks Assessors responsible for the key functions set out in the Children's and Families Act 2014 and the SEND Code of Practice (2014) and all subsequent related legislation and local guidance for the identification and assessment of children with special educational needs (SEN).

- The post-holder will ensure that, at all times, his/her staff offer a consistent and high quality professional service and maintain positive and solution focused relations with schools, settings and other agencies with whom they come into contact.
- The post holder will ensure that electronic recording and management information systems relating to SEND Short Breaks are maintained to a consistently high standard, providing accurate and reliable child-level, provider and performance data.
- They will ensure that all relevant team members are confident and competent in the use of data and reporting systems, enabling effective service planning, performance monitoring, commissioning activity, quality assurance and the timely completion of individual, service and contractual requirements.
