Support Worker - Flexible Short Breaks & Holiday Support (Lewisham Borough)

£15.45-£16.53 per hour

  • Weekly pay
  • Shifts available up to 7 days per week

A group of well-established short-break and holiday-support services across Lewisham are expanding their teams and seeking Support Workers who can offer reliable, compassionate assistance to children, young people, and young adults with additional needs. These settings provide structured activities, respite support, and safe, nurturing environments throughout weekends, school holidays, and flexible daily sessions.

What You'll Be Doing

You'll be part of a responsive, hands-on team delivering personalized support to individuals with varying needs. The role is ideal for those who value flexibility, enjoy meaningful work, and can step in confidently when required.

Your Main Duties

  • Offer 1:1 support tailored to each young person
  • Provide personal care sensitively and professionally
  • Assist individuals to engage in activities, social opportunities, and independence-building tasks
  • Maintain clear communication with colleagues, parents, and carers
  • Uphold safeguarding, behavior, and health & safety standards
  • Contribute to a calm, positive, and inclusive environment

Who We're Looking For

  • Someone with a genuine interest in supporting young people with additional needs
  • Care experience desirable, but not essential
  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one
  • Minimum GCSE Grade C/Level 4 in Maths & English (or equivalent)
  • Degree desirable
  • Flexible, dependable, and comfortable working at short notice
  • Strong communicator with an adaptable, patient approach
